When talking about muscle cars and torque, stating that a certain machine possesses enough twist to rotate the Earth backwards has already become a cliche. But is this true? Hold your physics mid-terms, we have a photo that provides a simpler answer to that question.
First of all, the answer is a big, fat "Yes”. OK, we’re not actually sure if the Hellcat could affect the planet’s rotation, but it can certainly raise up to the challenge brought by the ill-tempered weather.
The pic, which comes from The Oklahoman (via Jalopnik), shows a Challenger Hellcat standing on its own after a tornado had wiped off most just about every piece of the garage around it.
The photo was snapped in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, where a tornado caused chaos on Wednesday, May 6. The image is part of a larger gallery that shows workers removing debris resulting from the unfortunate phenomenon.
The blown Challenger was standing on an elevator when the tornado struck, but it’s obvious that it couldn’t be bothered by the vicious wind.
For the record, the demonic muscle car tips the scale at north of 4,400 LBS - that’s over 1995 KG for all you reading this over in Europe, where the Challenger has already arrived.
Sure, nobody’s perfect, Hellcat included, but the Dodge only suffered minor damage due to the storm. Stuff like a dented rear deck spoiler or a few scratched on the door. Regardless, none of these would prevent its owner to bring that elevator back to the ground and drive the hell out of that Challenger.
