A day separates us from the official unveiling event of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. In advance to the grand ceremony at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix course of tomorrow, CNBC’s Squawk Box show got a sneak peek at what the 2016 Camaro is about.
First of all, I’d like to thank GMI forum members HuJass and FenwickHockey65 for the three pics in the gallery below. Other than the photographs below, the morning show on CNBC featured a segment with GM president Dan Amman test driving the 2016 Camaro.

The video doesn’t say much at first glance, but do listen carefully to that exhaust sound. Yeap, it's the 3.6-liter LGX V6 that debuted on the Cadillac CT6.

Details offered by the forum member’s stills are more than plentiful. On the left, the red-painted Camaro with vents in its bonnet is the V8-powered SS model because of the ricer rear wing. Tell-tale signs we’re dealing with the SS also include the horizontal bars of LEDs, quad tailpipes (also standard on the V6) and the all-black, ornament-less upper and lower front grilles.

The silver vehicle is a less potent model. It’s mum’s guess if we’re dealing with the model animated by a turbocharged four-banger. Then again, we can see that the LED light bars under the LED-accented headlights aren’t horizontal. Compared to the SS and V6, the least powerful 2016 Camaro will most likely adopt these vertical units, joined by two slim chrome bars that traverse the upper and lower front grilles.

As for the rear shot, there’s a lot going on with that rear bumper and diffuser. As expected, only the SS receives a rear wing, but would you just look at the waistline of that pony? Don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the 2016 Camaro to debut tomorrow. Plenty more surprises are in store for us.
