Chevrolet split the 2016 Chevy Camaro's pre-reveal teasing campaign in so many episodes that it might as well become available on Netflix. But as the official unveiling date is closing in, we get to see more details of the pony car.
On may 16th, Chevrolet will reveal the 2016 Camaro, the pony car's sixth generation to be seen in the automotive world. Last time we heard about the new Camaro was a couple of weeks ago when the golden bow tie manufacturer said the SS version will feature magnetic ride control and and a dual-mode exhaust system.

Now, Chevrolet teases the Camaro with two new photos, one showing the front of the car while the other one gives a hint of how the #camaroSIX will look from the side.

Also, they used the opportunity to talk about the car's aerodynamics, not without mentioning the car spent 350 hours of wind tunnel testing - sometimes as much as 24 hours a day:

“As engine output increases, we need more engine cooling. As acceleration and top speeds climb, we need to reduce lift for better high-speed stability. However, we cannot make any changes at the expense of increasing drag, which can hurt fuel economy. To balance these different aerodynamic targets, we tested literally hundreds of changes on the new Camaro, millimeters at a time,” explained Kirk Bennion, Exterior Design manager.

Simply put, the importance of aerodynamics is directly proportional to the vehicle's increase in performance. For example, the initial design specified the lower grille bars to be set at a 20-degree angle to the horizon. However, after further testing, the team improved engine-cooling airflow by 1 percent by shifting the angle to 13 degrees.

Coming back to the performance department, we've previously been teased with the sound of a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 at full throttle, which could team-up with C7 Corvette’s Tremec TR-6070 7-speed manual on the Camaro SS. But we'll wait for the official reveal to tell us that.
