Remember that pretty old video game going by the name of Carmageddon? Released in 1997 on platforms that include MS-DOS, the game was censored in multiple countries because some people feel offended by running over zombies and seeing pixelated blood on the computer’s screen. Fast-forward to the present day, and two reboots have made Carmageddon a household name in the world of vehicular combat.
The original release of the 3D destruction derby was heavily influenced by the Mad Max franchise and Death Race 2000, two classics made better by countless ludicrous cars designed to be as dangerous as technically possible. This Dodge Challenger here wouldn’t look out of place in either of them nor Carmageddon’s dystopian universe.

Penned by senior UI and creative 3D designer Jamie C. A. Bray from Jaguar Land Rover, the “Grudge Garage Armoured Challenger” isn’t based on the Hellcat or Hellcat Redeye. The initial sketches reveal the hood design from the SXT trim level, which is exclusively available with the 3.6-liter Pentastar naturally aspirated V6.

On the other hand, JBRAY Design does mention that he started off with the 2008 Challenger SRT8 that used to start at $40,095 and was offered exclusively with the 6.1-liter HEMI V8. At 425 horsepower or 431 PS, the motor is more than adequate for chasing zombies around town and outside the urban jungle.

After reviewing the initial changes to the car, "the client wanted to go further and introduce a custom feel to the armour on the Challenger." The second incarnation of the muscleclad demolisher ticks all the right boxes from a visual standpoint, featuring Goodyear Wrangler tires and steelies with the Punisher logo on the center caps.

“Destructive, rugged, and powerful” as described by its creator, the armored brawler also boasts a suspension lift kit and relocated exhaust outlets. One of the most surprising changes to the Challenger as we know it can be seen at the rear, now boasting a full-width taillight with three horizontal LED bars to emphasize the vehicle’s width.

If you were Max Damage in Carmageddon and you had a choice between the Red Eagle or this fellow here, which of them would you choose for obliterating zombies in a doomdsday scenario?
