Back in 1969, Dodge launched the Charger Daytona missile, with this becoming the first racecar to hit 200 mph (322 kph) on a closed course, proving that muscle and aero work best when brought together. There was never an era when this Mopar machine, along with its Plymouth Superbird sister car, made for anything less than an uber-popular proposal and yet the Internet seems to pay extra attention to the pair this year, as the rendering we have here comes to show.
We're looking at a street "build" here and it seems that the look, rather than the downforce, is the top priority of the proposal.

For one, the nose of the muscle car seems to sit closer to that of the Superbird, since its grille sits in the lower area , while the pop-up headlights displayed by both factory units are gone, with conventional headlights replacing them.

The posterior doesn't just skip the iconic wing, but packs an uber-clean look altogether. Not even the exhaust pipes are present, with these now leaving the vehicle just before the rear wheels.

As you've noticed, we've left the stance of the Dodge for the final part of the tale. And while we can quickly get over the lowered ride height, the massive wheels of the muscle car make one wonder if this is a rendering portraying a Daytona clone based on a modern Dodge Charger.

For the record, we've recently discussed such a real-world project, with the contraption using a 2006 Dodge Charger SRT-8 as a starting point.

Keep in mind that Steve Mirabelli, the builder of the toy, is currently engaged in another project of the sort, namely a 2010 Challenger R/T dressed up as a third-generation Plymouth GTX. And when one finds out that the said aficionado builds NASCAR Sprint Cup racecars for a living, its spare time efforts only seem natural.
