Deluxe Camper Van Conversion Boasts a Cute, Pinterest-Inspired Interior With a Dog Bedroom

What we have here is a 2022 AWD Ford Transit van owned by Sydney. Sydney is no stranger to tiny living – she's been traveling in campers for the past five years, and all the experience she garnered led to her knowing exactly what she wanted in her latest conversion.

Since Sydney didn't make the conversion herself, it cost her quite a fortune. The base vehicle set her back $75,000 (€69,255), and she paid a hefty $100,000 (€92,340) for the conversion, bringing the total price of this rig to $175,000 (€161,595). By the way, she employed Ikey Baker, the owner of Crafted Rigs, to carry out the conversion. Let's take a look at the mobile home and see if it was worth its price, starting with the exterior.

The vehicle is finished all around in white paint, rides on all-terrain tires, and boasts several accessories. For instance, at the rear, you'll find a spare tire carrier and an aluminum box mounted on a Molle panel carrier. Furthermore, Sydney had side flares with slide-screen windows installed to create more space in the bedroom, which is located at the rear of the interior, just like in most camper van builds.

And finally, you can climb on the roof using a ladder on the driver's side of the vehicle. Up there, you'll notice a large 380 W solar panel, a deck, a skylight, and traction boards.

Now, let's step inside. Pop open the main door, and you'll be greeted by a beautifully designed interior that looks straight up out of a Pinterest board. One of the design details that will first catch your eye is the overhead cabinetry, which is made out of red oak and has a slatted design.

The rest of the interior is finished with shiplap walls, white backsplashed with salmon pinkish tiles, and light grey kitchen cabinetry. Moreover, you'll notice Sydney opted for a closed layout, meaning the living space is separated from the driver's cabin by a wall with an arched door.

Starting from the front of the living space, you'll find a seating area. It comprises a bench and a swivel table – this is where you can enjoy a meal or work on your laptop. Furthermore, the bench's frame can be extended, allowing you to stretch your legs while sitting down.

Usually, the space underneath the bench is used for storage. However, Sydney devised a miniature bedroom for her smaller dog. It's a cute spot, complete with a small door, mood lighting, and some plants.

Next, we have the kitchen, which is split into two parts. It features a deep sink with a gold faucet and a water filter, two white, marble-like countertops, a two-burner induction stove, a flip-up countertop extension, a Vitrifrigo fridge/freezer, and a small oven.

For storage, you can use multiple cabinets and drawers underneath the countertop, as well as overhead cabinets, which run across the entire length of the ceiling on both sides of the interior. What's more, one of the cabinets houses the rig's control panel, consisting of an inverter controller, a heater controller, and various switches.

As I mentioned earlier, the bedroom occupies the rear part of the interior. It boasts an almost-king-size bed that's designed to accommodate you length-wise. Usually, van dwellers install flared to be able to sleep width-wise, but the extra room Sydney has on both sides of the bed was transformed into nightstands, complete with red oak panels, USB plugs, and dimmable light switches. Oh, and a dry flush toilet can be slid out from underneath the bed.

Another cool feature is a projector that displays video on a screen mounted at the front of the interior above the door that leads into the driver's cabin. It's positioned perfectly for watching a movie while lying in bed.

The space underneath the bed is used as a garage, accessible by opening the two rear doors. On the passenger side, you'll find the electrical system, while the opposite side houses the plumbing system, which features an outdoor shower and a freshwater tank. Moreover, you'll discover a slide-out tray in the middle of the garage, which is perfect for easily accessing the stuff you store inside.

All in all, Sydney has a fantastic tiny home on wheels. Its design is stunning, and it doesn't sacrifice comfort in any sort of way. It did cost a pretty penny to build, but that's how much such a build will set you back if you don't build it by yourself.
