Many Chevrolet C10 builds out there use Corvette hearts for power, but most of them stop at that in mimicking America’s favorite sports car. Not this one here though, because its builders took things to the next level and gifted it with a Corvette Yellow body as well.
The C10 is how the bowtie carmaker calls the half-ton offering in the C/K series that ran from about 70 years ago and well into the 2000s. For the custom industry and car collector world of today, the C10 is the most sought after in the old pickup family.
Because November is Chevrolet Month here at autoevolution, we’ve talked quite a bit about this star pickup, and we’ll continue to do so for the remainder of the month.
Today we have this to show you, a C10 from the very beginning of the family. It too has been brought into the modern world by a custom garage that carefully crafted it to be a real head turner.
The first thing that strikes you is the yellow on the body (they call it Corvette Yellow), a color not often chosen for this type of build. It blends perfectly with the chrome on the multi-spoke wheels, bumpers, and side steps.
The yellow continues on the dashboard inside, which also gets carbon fiber inlays. Auto Meter white face gauges make up the instruments cluster, and a Pioneer audio system sits in the dash’s middle.
Like many of its kind, this C10 too draws its power from a Corvette engine. In this case, we’re talking about a 350ci (5.7-liter) sourced from a 1972 'Vette, only tweaked some more with the addition of an Edelbrock aluminum intake, 4-barrel carburetor, and an a Turbo 350 automatic transmission.
With 2,500 miles (4,000 km) on the clock since made this way, the C10 Chevy is selling for $29,500.
