While Renault may not make an all-electric version of the Megane (because they have the Fluence ZE), German tire manufacturer Continental has done it for them. They have used only in-house components and have achieved results similar to those achieved by Renault.
Keeping in mind the fact that Continental makes the electric motors for the Kangoo ZE and the Fluence ZE, it was a natural step to integrate the technology into the more compact Megane. It uses a 70 kW (95 hp) / 226 Nm motor which draws juice from a 154 kg battery pack. However, to keep the weight down, they have made the electronic controller 30%, and have made the entire system more compact - it fits neatly under the floorpan.

It has a range of 150 km and it reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.9 seconds. The German company has also given the car a special upholstery which is made using 40% renewable materials, called Acella Eco. Also, to improve airflow and reduce rolling resistance, it features special extra-narrow 20-inch alloys which also look really good.
