Columbus Yachts, a brand of the world-renowned Palumbo Superyachts network, sees greater potential for the Columbus Atlantique range of superyachts, so the yard decided to add yet another vessel to the lineup. The latest addition to the series is the Columbus Atlantique 65, and just like its smaller sisterships, it blends classic sailing yacht aesthetics with sporty automotive design.
The Italian shipyard originally introduced the series in 2021 with the Atlantique 43, and then it gradually expanded it with new models ranging from 121 feet to 180 feet (37 meters to 55 meters) in length.
The newly-revealed 213-foot (65-meter) watercraft is the new flagship yacht of the Atlantique range and represents a natural evolution for the yard, an opportunity to further hone the design with an even more detailed and sinuous exterior and a perfectly balanced interior.
Naturally, the Atlantique 65 is built on the same platform as the previous models in the series, but it's not just a new model with a more generous volume but a truly innovative vessel with unique features rarely seen on other superyachts.
Its sleek, sculptural exterior was penned by Milanese studio Hot Lab and takes design cues from sailboats and 1950s sports cars. It is mainly characterized by linearity and coherence, with clean lines that run smoothly from bow to stern. The sailing influence is notable in the sharp bow and the transom, the latter boasting rounded styling.
As explained by designer Enrico Lumini, the Atlantique 65 also has a monolithic aesthetic, with "no overlapping of layers, but a single element, within which the necessary space has been created."
One of the standout features of the Columbus Atlantique 65 yacht is its unique "Pool Terrace" aft, which includes an infinity pool that is neither on the main deck nor nestled on the transom. Instead, the designers suspended it on a half deck accessible from the aft main deck.
The raised terrace has glass walls, allowing guests to enjoy some of the best views of the surrounding seascape. Additionally, it incorporates a full-height entrance to the enclosed beach club beneath it. Modern yacht designs usually ditch the traditional beach clubs in favor of fully open versions, but the designers of the Atlantique 65 wanted to offer the best of both worlds, creating an all-around waterfront entertaining venue.
Designed with a focus on comfort and leisure, the superyacht also includes an al fresco dining area and plunge pool on the upper deck, as well as a spacious swim platform with plenty of sun loungers.
Accommodation of board Columbus' Atlantique 65 is for up to twelve guests across four VIP cabins located below deck and a fifth VIP stateroom on the bridge deck. The vessel's helm station has also been positioned on the upper deck, thus allowing designers to create not just a stateroom for the owner but a duplex master suite with nearly 10-foot (three-meter) high ceilings at the bow. The top section of the master cabin comprises an office, walk-in closet, and lounge area, while the second floor is dedicated to a luxurious en-suite bathroom and a raised, glass-walled sitting room.
Broad skylights and private access to the superyacht's hot tub make the master suite even more special.
Columbus Atlantique 65 is an impressive yacht in terms of performance as well. It is equipped with twin MTU 12V 4,000 M63 engines and will be able to reach a top speed of 17.5 knots (20 mph), with a range of 5,500 nautical miles (10,186 km) at 11 knots (13 mph).
