Here’s an accident you don’t get to see that often – and praise the Powers that Be for that! A camel was hit by a speeding car and ended up stuck inside the vehicle for 4 full hours.
A Toyota Corolla was rolling down the highway at high speed, when the camel simply walked on the road. The collision was full-on, as the driver didn’t even have time to brake.

According to reports online, the accident occurred at the beginning of last month, but it’s just now that the video from the scene is getting traction online. The same reports say that it occurred in Bikaner, Rajasthan at nighttime, but they’re still to be confirmed.

One thing is clear: the impact was so strong that the camel ended up stuck inside the car that hit it at high speed. The animal came in through the windshield and was stuck with its head through the sunroof when passersby gathered in an attempt to free it.

Based on the video at the bottom of the page, though it says the camel wasn’t injured, it’s clear that one of its legs is broken. Passersby and authorities struggled for 4 full hours to free the panicked animal, which kept kicking and further entangling itself in the wreck of the car.

After the rescue operation, the camel was taken to a nearby veterinary hospital and treated for its injuries. It is believed it’s now ok. Miraculously, the driver of the Toyota Corolla wasn’t injured either.

Again, this isn’t the kind of accident you see everyday, but at least it’s one with a happy ending, as hard as it might seem to believe. Sure, the car was totaled by the time the rescue operation was over – but a car can always be replaced, no matter how expensive.
