Here’s a Clip of a Scotland Road Officer Being Chased by a Cow, Just Because

If you’re feeling down, nothing better to put a smile on your face than a kitten / puppy video. Or this video posted to Twitter by Road Policing Scotland, showing one of their officers being chased by a cow.

The video went online at the weekend but has gone viral just now. It shows PC Ross on the job, getting out of his patrol car to try and direct a cow back to safety, after it got stuck in a ditch in the middle of a field.

Cows being cows, they’re not exactly known for their obedience or understanding of non-verbal commands. This particular calf is no exception, as you can see in the video at the bottom of the page. Despite PC Ross’ best efforts to get the cow to move into a different direction, he is unsuccessful.

What he does manage to accomplish, though, is get the animal’s attention. The video, captured on the dash cam from the police cruiser, shows the calf charging towards the Police Constanble, as he turns and makes a mad dash to safety – even if that means running into the road he was trying to keep the cow out of.

To his luck, there was no traffic at the time. Moreover, the cow gave up the pursuit shortly after, so he was never in any real danger. The entire incident is still funny, though, especially since the PC was supposed to be the cow’s savior, directing it back to the field it had ran out of.

“Sunday blues?! Here is PC Ross & his udderly amusing attempt to direct an errant cow back to its field!”
reads the caption from the video. “Pleased to report that neither PC Ross or any animal were harmed during this incident & despite some initial reluctance the animal returned to its field.”
