The Mitsubishi Lancer is really old. It recently made Consumer Reports' list of worst cars in their class. The Evo X… quite a different story. You instantly get respect wherever you go, since unlike all the German performance cars there's no half-baked versions, no S line or Sport body kit you can get with a tiny engine.
This custom Vossen Wheels project goes one-up on that with a clean look, no badges, improved stance and carbon fiber aero bits. The custom wheels chosen have nothing to dow with the world of rallying. The CV3 rim is a simple black graphite black design with a concave shape and simple spokes. For contrast, red lugs draw attention to the Brembo brake set.
Going from a rally stage refugee to a custom low-rider/VIP tuning car, the Evo has gained something it never had – class. Maybe Mitsubishi's problems with Evo sales can easily be solved not by adding electric motors, but by finding a more refined exterior and classier interior. It's sacrilege, we know, but its racing days are over anyway and they might as well make something else of the heritage.
Why is the rest of Mitsubishi's portfolio so gosh-darn boring. Why do they even bother with the Mirage when clearly a Mazda3 will dance around a Lancer. This custom car project shows the fans still believe, even though it might all be for nothing.
