Citroen UK Names New Managing Director

The British division of French carmaker Citroen announced today it has appointed a new Managing Director, effective July 1, 2010, in the person of Linda Jackson. Prior to being named in this position, Jackson has most recently been Finance Director for Citroen France, based in Paris.

Previously, she had been Financial Controller at Citroen UK from 2005 to early last year.  Before that, she has held several senior positions within the MG Rover Group, including Managing Director in France and European Sales Financial Controller.

“I am delighted to be returning back to Slough as Managing Director of Citroen UK, at such a key time. Citroen is undergoing something of a renaissance with its new brand image and the launch of a whole range of new vehicles. The potential for the brand and the dealer network is enormous and I am looking forward to maximizing all the opportunities this will bring,” the newly appointed MD said in a release.

“I congratulate Linda on her new position and the opportunity to return to Citroen UK at such an important time in our history.  Her wide automotive experience within Citroen and the motor industry in general will undoubtedly support Citroen UK’s aspiration to grow its sales and market share in the years to come,” stated Christophe Musy, Citroen’s Commercial Director for Northern Europe.

PSA Peugeot Citroen recorded a 28 percent increase in revenue in the first quarter of 2010 and expects the operating profit to rise accordingly for the first six months of the year. Revenue rose to EUR14 billion from EUR10.97 billion in the same quarter last year. The largest portion is represented by sales of the automotive division, which increased 22 percent to EUR10.6 billion.
