With so many people passionate about tiny houses and ready to embrace a simpler lifestyle, there is also a growing number of building companies popping up all over the world. The latest we've come across is Piccola Tiny Homes, a small company that is ready to assist you in building the luxury compact dwelling of your dreams.
Based in Simi Valley, California, the builder offers expertly crafted compact homes built to the highest quality standard and ready to provide customers with a premium tiny living experience. The most recent addition to the team's portfolio is the Minuet, a comfortable and functional home on wheels fashioned to cater to the needs of a single person or a couple. The company mentions it would be ideal for a college graduate, a young working professional, or even a single parent who wants to downsize without giving up on the amenities of normal-size living.

At 24 feet (7.3 meters) long and 8.5 feet (2.6 meters) wide, this model is the smallest built by the talented team. It offers a total of 196 square feet (18.2 square meters) of livable space, but despite its petite size, it includes all the comforts of a traditional home while offering the perk of mobility.

With a name like Minuet, inspired by the aristocratic French dance popular in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, this tiny home comes with a remarkably elegant design inside and out. It is based on a double-axle trailer and is finished in a combination of black metal and tongue and groove cedar siding, underlining the modern aesthetic the designers went for. The exterior is sealed for enhanced weather resistance, and its durable standing seam metal roof is rated to UL580 Class 90 winds. A short flight of stairs leads up to the full-light door that invites you inside.

What makes this tiny dwelling stand out is the thoughtful interior layout, which comprises a living area with dining/working space, a modern kitchen, a snug bedroom, and a full bathroom, making the most of the available space with multi-functional furniture pieces and creative storage solutions.

Once you step inside, you'll immediately feel at ease in the warm, inviting ambiance created by the soft color palette and abundance of natural light. The luxury vinyl floorings, textured and designer paint drywalls (something you don't usually find in tiny houses), and cedar plank ceilings throughout create a sense of cohesion inside this home.

Striking a balance between form and function, the Minuet is not only about minimalism and simplicity but also about modern luxury. It was designed to allow residents to thrive with comfortable accommodation for a restful night's sleep, a generous workspace for increased productivity, modern appliances for balancing efficiency and convenience, and high-end finishes for aesthetic appeal. What's more, it features plenty of windows that make the space burst with natural light and scenic views.

The bedroom is perhaps the most standout feature of this design. It's not a proper ground-floor bedroom, but it's not a loft either. It basically consists of a spacious queen bed built on a raised platform (similar to what we've seen in many camper van conversions) with tons of storage underneath. The elevated platform allowed the designers to include not only a series of drawers under the bed but also a huge closet for hanging clothes, shoes, and other belongings.

What's more, this ingenious bedroom configuration eschews the almost ubiquitous storage-integrated staircase and creates a cozy nook for relaxation. The bed is surrounded by no less than three awning windows that open up and bring the outdoors inside.

The adjacent living room is a multi-purpose area fitted with a comfy sofa with built-in storage, a fold-down table, and a big wall-mounted TV. Owners can use this space for lounging, entertainment, and socialization when they have guests over, but the multi-functional furniture allows it to double as a home office area for those who work remotely.

The compact yet functional kitchen boasts custom cabinets with soft close hinges that offer plenty of storage for cooking essentials, coupled with ultra-durable quartz countertops that add elegance to the space. It comes accoutered with all kinds of modern appliances, ranging from an all-in-one convection microwave/oven/vent unit and a two-burner cooktop to a refrigerator/freezer and a deep sink with various accessories.

A picture window allows dwellers to cook with a view, and a huge skylight adds even more natural light not only in the kitchen but also in the lounging/working area.

The Minuet also has an incredibly spacious bathroom with a modern design and ample storage options. It is equipped with all the basics and more, including a  32" x32” round shower with glass doors, a vanity with stainless steel sink, an elongated flush toilet, and a medicine cabinet with adjustable color light, defogger, and interior plug.  There is also a large linen closet and a washer/dryer combo in the bathroom, meaning the space also doubles as a laundry.

The Minuet tiny home gets power from a standard RV-style hookup and comes standard with heating and air conditioning. The turnkey-ready home comes with a $134,900 price tag, which puts it on the expensive side, especially considering its compact footprint. However, given the eye-pleasing design, excellent craftsmanship, and quality materials, it's most likely worth every penny.
