After Citroen revealed it in production guise earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, the funky C4 Cactus is finally available for order in Great Britain. The French manufacturer announced that the base model starts from £12,990 OTR and deliveries begin in October.
Those £12,990 will buy you the Puretech 75 manual with the Touch trim level, while the top-of-the-range e-HDi 91 ETG6 specified in the posh Flair trim will set you back £18,190. In total, there are three trim levels (Touch, Feel and Flair) and five engines in the lineup.

So what do you get for the least amount of money? Well, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes as standard along with steering wheel controls for the radio. Power front windows, an USB slot and a gear change indicator for economic driving are also included. LED daytime running lights, central locking and the innovative "Airbump" panels complete the highlight features. Touch models cannot be optioned with an automatic gearbox, while powerplant choices vary between the entry-level 74 hp petrol to a range-topping 99 hp diesel.

For £14,590 you can get the 81 hp petrol-powered Feel model that adds body color side mirrors, gloss black roof bars and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, bench-style front seats and air con are also on the menu. If you need a tad more comfort and fuel economy, you can step up to the e-HDi diesel coupled to an auto box for £16,790.

The pick of the bunch is the £15,990 Citroen C4 Cactus Flair model. For that kind of dough you get the 81 hp petrol mill, sat-nav, an upgraded stereo, rearview backup camera and automatic wipers and lights. Further more, ambient LED interior lighting comes as standard, together with a front armrest that doubles as a storage compartment for all your different bits and bobs.

Like we previously mentioned, the range-topping variant commands £18,190 and comes with a 1.6-liter e-HDi oil burner coupled to an automatic gearbox. Compared to traditional units, this transmission works by pushing three buttons on the center stack labeled D, R and N. Even though it looks chunky, the Citroen C4 Cactus weighs just 965 kilograms in base form, which is 60 kilos lighter than the Ford Fiesta supermini.
