Chrysler Group LLC reported US January 2014 sales of 127,183 units, an eight percent increase compared with the same month last year (117,731 units), and the group’s best January sales since 2008.
The Chrysler, Jeep, Ram Truck, and Fiat brands each experience year-over-year sales gains last month, with Jeep leading the pack with a 38 percent increase, its best January ever. Ram brand sales increased 24 percent, Chrysler brand sales went up just 2 percent, while Fiat posted a 29 percent increase with only 3,222 500 and 500L models delivered.
Dodge, on the other hand, dropped 19 percent in January 2014, despite Grand Caravan sales going up 47 percent compared to the previous year.
“The bad weather only seemed to affect our competitors’ stores as we had a great January with sales up 8 percent and achieved our 46th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases,” said Reid Bigland, head of US sales.
