Christian von Koenigsegg is an overly ambitious man, a car guy who lives to see his big dreams becoming carbon fiber reality. The only problem with big dreams is that they need to be put in practice using baby steps. Well, we're here to see how Christian deals with this issue. Spoiler alert: he does it pretty damn well.
To illustrate the said point, we'll focus on Koenigsegg's carbon fiber wheels. An early step towards delivering such goodies on a production vehicle was made with the Agera.

However, as the Swede explains in the Drive-provided video at the bottom of the page, the carbon wheels of the Agera were purely a product of engineering. Well, with Angelholm's latest velocity weapon, the Regera, the Swedish specialists had what they needed to also integrate a special design in the fabrication of the CF wheels.

This isn't one of those "at first it might seem simple" cases and yet all the preparation in the world won't mean you're ready for the engineering challenges of building a set of wheels for a vehicle that's been gifted with 1,500 hp.

The clip offers an interestingly simple explanation on how the hybrid-specific weight distribution of the Regera saw the weight of the battery pack required the front wheels to be wider.

Nevertheless, we need to mention that Koenigsegg isn't the only automaker delivering CF wheels on production cars anymore, as Ford also does this for the Mustang Shelby GT350R - this amusingly reminds us of how Porsche still claims the 911 Turbo is the only production vehicle employing variable geometry gas turbocharging, when... Koenigsegg offers such a setup for the One:1.

In the end, Koenigsegg proves it can share some of its tech wisdom with the world in a way that makes the company stronger through an apparent vulnerability and we have to applaud this.
