Chevrolet Camaro Comes to Europe

For the first time in its existence, the Chevrolet Camaro will see the inside on an European distribution center, in both its coupe and convertible guises, following the announcement made today. The Camaro will be accompanied to the Old Continent by several more additions, including the production versions of the Orlando concept shown in 2008 and this year's NAIAS Aveo RS concept.

"After Cruze in 2009 and Spark in 2010, our centenary year 2011 will usher in five more exciting Chevrolets for Europe," Wayne Brannon, Chevrolet Europe managing director said according to Carscoop.

At this time, no one really knows what the specifics of the European based Camaro will be, but rumors point to the use of both of the versions used on the American market: 3.6l V6 and 6.2l V8.

As for the other two models, the Orlando will likely be introduced towards the end of the year, together with the Camaro. The Aveo on the other hand, will come to Europe on 2011, packing a 1.4l Ecotec turbocharged gasoline engine developing 138 horsepower. Both the Orlando and the Aveo RS will be showcased at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show.

"The Aveo RS clearly demonstrates that we are ready to make a big step forward in the small-car segment. Coming to Europe in 2011, the new Aveo will be completely in tune with the striking new Cruze and Spark, our all-new compact and mini entries," Brannon added.
