Cadillac has not been very generous when it came to showing the Optiq even though we've known for quite a while that its arrival is imminent. The brand confirmed the arrival of the model last fall but two photos were all we ever got. Now, we get to see the interior of the luxury car for the first time, and we have China to thank for it.
The Cadillac Optiq will hit the market later this year as a 2025 model. But the brand seems to want to keep it away from the eyes of the curious. In November 2023, the automaker showed only two official photos that revealed much of the front end, side, and rear end design. The images were a confirmation of the fact that it looks very much like the Lyriq.

But there was no sign of the Optiq's interior back then and we were left wondering. However, China is here now to save the day. In order to be homologated for the Chinese market, the model shows up in photos on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). That is where the first photos of the dashboard ended up, and that is where Autoblog spotted them.

As we could have guessed, the interior also resembles that of the Lyriq. Therefore, we are dealing with a curved display, which integrates both the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen, which controls most of the functions of the car.

The psychical buttons hold their ground and are there for the climate control. An enclosed storage space and two USB-C ports are there as well. A floating rotary dial is also on board. The layout resembles that of the Optiq, but with the space being reduced, the items sport a more crowded layout.

The Optiq should offer pretty much the same recipe as the Lyriq in a more compact variant and subsequently, with a lower price. The entry-level Lyriq Tech starts at $58,590, while the Sport variant kicks off at $63,190.

The EV is 189.8 inches long, 75.3 inches wide, and 64.7 inches high, sporting a wheelbase of 116.3 inches. The Lyriq measures 196.7 inches in length, 77.8 inches in width, and 63.9 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 121.8 inches.

If the Chevrolet Equinox, with which the Optiq shares the Ultium platform and many of its components, the crossover should arrive with a single-motor and a dual-motor layout. The front-wheel drive version will be available with either 200 or 240 horsepower, while the all-wheel drive will get more out of the two motors: 283 horsepower.

The documents filed by Cadillac to receive homologation from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology confirms this information. Earlier today, MIIT offered the first photos of the Denza Z9 GT.
