Curiously, Cadillac now counts on the mid-size CT5 sedan series as its best-selling worldwide model – probably mostly thanks to China's love for it. However, it also grew a lot at home in America.
That's probably one of the main reasons why GM approved a mid-cycle refresh for the CT5 and then another one for the feisty CT5-V and the mighty Blackwing version. However, the same love wasn't applied to the smaller CT4 compact sedan, which probably means its days are numbered. That's too bad, as the CT4-V Blackwing was also a force to be reckoned with.

However, that runs through the family as its predecessor, the ATS-V, was also not something to be trifled with, especially at the local quarter-mile dragstrip. But there is no need to take our word for granted, as we have a proper example – in the form of an aggressive Caddy coupe. The videographer behind the Drag Racing and Car Stuff channel on YouTube loves Bradenton Motorsport Park and Orlando Speed World. Still, it now is expanding his reach to Beech Bend Raceway Park, where he captured a bit of the eternal America versus Import wars.

The first run seen in the video embedded below pits the great-looking Cadillac ATS-V Coupe against a rather wacky Audi TT RS, with the German coupe looking like it just came from an environmentalist protest where activists threw paint on it. Some would say it's art, but we think it's best if we let the machines and drivers showcase their talent on the prepped tarmac. Soon enough, it was pretty apparent that both were a bit tuned – the Cadillac ATS-V does the official quarter mile in a little over 12 seconds, but here it achieved an impressive 11.44s result. Sadly, that wasn't enough to conquer the track because the colorful TT RS (a nameplate that was also retired in the meantime) posted an even better 10.92s pass!

Secondly, a Ford Mustang tried to defend America's honor against a lesser Audi, but the little rascal of a sedan was also prepared for the skirmish – and some will say it was a lot better fitted than the jittery Blue Oval, which had a tough time completing the run and sanely lost against a second 10.92s pass! Of course, the S650 Ford Mustang is the one laughing at the end of the day because the Cadillac ATS-V and Audi TT are out of production, and its Dark Horse variant serves as the base for quite a handful of motorsport versions tuned by Ford Performance.

Hopefully, we will soon get to see an all-new Shelby rocking the prepped asphalt all around the nation's quarter-mile dragstrip facilities because we are pretty sure the ultra-expensive Mustang GTD supercar isn't going to spend too much time on these straights. Instead, it's probably going to be a garage queen tucked away for fatty auction profits rather than a canyon carver and a track monster.
