Just about everyone knows very well that 2020 was an unforgettable year – unfortunately not because of its positive aspects. Automotive enthusiasts, for example, felt the impact of the restrictions in many ways, including seeing their carefully plotted plans for epic road trips being compromised.
Still, some decided to head out of the garage anyway, once all conditions were met. For YouTuber MD Beyond Cars, that meant finally taking possession of a brand-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Z51 Coupe and finding the spare time for an epic road trip with “America’s sports car.”
Imagine the setting. Late September last year, he finally took delivery of the C8 following a host of delays (did we say anything about 2020 being a year full of problems?!) caused by production issues stemming from the global health crisis. So, what happened next was easy to imagine – he quickly started racking up miles on the odometer while documenting the scenic trips.
Nothing out of the ordinary, so far. That was before his most recent vlog dropped like a bomb, teasing us to an epic “The Bucket List Roadtrip” that saw him and the C8 Corvette take off across America for almost three full weeks (exactly 19 days, to be more precise).
This scenic tour racked up approximately 9,000 miles (almost 15,000 km) and according to the highlights listed in the video (embedded below) description, it encompassed no fewer than 23 states, 16 National Parks, “dozens” of National Forests, as well as legendary roads such as Pikes Peak, Route 66, Highway 1, and Tail of the Dragon.
No reason to be envious of the incredible scenery just yet because we all need to gather our strength for the upcoming longer video that’s said to be coming soon. Of course, for those who won’t be able to hold their own (like us) and will immediately grab the keys to the car and a backpack, it’s probably better to check out the shorter feature that’s already live.
As far as we can see, the Sebring Orange Z51 Corvette encountered just about everything during this epic journey, from stunning natural scenery to the occasional moment of respite when a police officer check up on one’s wellbeing (hopefully he wasn’t writing him a ticket).
The footage also looks great, as we can see a combination of POV driving, classic road trip recording of the achieved milestones, and some neat drone footage.
