Apparel, footwear, accessories, and other extras are part of any respectable automotive brand's portfolio. If someone's willing to spend good money on one of your vehicles, chances are they will buy some official merch to go with it. After all, who's going to argue against spending $2-300 more on something that goes well with the car? Not many people. Jeep understands that and wants to protect your feet while you're exploring the unbeaten path. Here's what you need to know about the limited-edition hiking shoes co-developed with Merrell.
Before every automaker and their dog started making SUVs, Jeep was synonymous with high-riding, fun, off-road-ready, adventurous vehicles that drew their origin story from successful military activity. It's an iconic auto brand known globally, loved by many, and continues to remain enshrined in the collective mentality as one of the most important carmakers ever.

On the other hand, Merrell is known by people who love to spend quality time outdoors. It makes footwear for those who care about the quality of their shoes or boots while exploring various types of terrain. Just like Jeep, Merrell has been at it for quite some time. The American entity has been in business since 1981, and it's known for providing backpackers with distinct sneakers for a reasonable price.

The Merrell Moab 3 Mid x Jeep is a hiking boot that fuses the ethos of both brands into limited-edition footwear that's meant to provide the necessary support for those wanting to reconnect with nature.

These special boots include some minimalistic yet cool inserts that put on display the collaboration with Jeep. There's Rubicon badging, lace hooks that imitate the Wrangler tow hook, subtle hints at the hatches found on the hood of the SUV, and an upper mesh with the hexagon pattern found on Wrangler's grille.

The shoes are finished in popular Jeep colors (Sarge Green, Sting Grey, and Hydro Blue) and include larger heel webbing hooks that remind those who wear them about the vehicle's seatbelts. The seven-slot grille recognizable by almost anyone is embossed on the boot backstay, the strip usually found above the heel counter.

The footbed inserts give a great topological preview of the well-known Hell's Revenge off-road trail found in Moab, Utah.

The limited-edition hiking boots will be available in men's and women's sizes and can be bought from Merrell's official online store starting October 16. They'll be sold in the US, Canada, China, Taiwan, Japan, Peru, Panama, and Colombia.

There's a giveaway organized to celebrate this collaboration. Someone will win a brand-new Jeep Wrangler. Only one entry per person is going to be allowed, and, as expected, no purchase is necessary to join in on the fun. The sweepstakes go live on October 23.

Finally, you can see the Merrell Moab 3 Mid x Jeep at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) starting Wednesday, September 13, if you want to choose your favorite pair in person before ordering one online or visiting physical stores like Public Lands and Atmosphere.

Car shows on TV and his father's Fiat Tempra may have been Florin's early influences, but nowadays he favors different things, like the power of an F-150 Raptor. He'll never be able to ignore the shape of a Ferrari though, especially a yellow one.
