Sure, most of the modern cars come with parking sensors that will assist you while you’re squeezing your car in the lot. But what if the reason your bumper gets bruises is somebody else? What if your beloved Prius gets hit by another fellow who simply is too bad at telling the right distance between his car and yours.
Here’s where The Bumper Bot comes in. It’s sort of similar to what a regular car alarm does, only that instead of making noises when somebody is trying to steal it from you, it does that when another car is getting too close. How close is too close? Well, that’s up to you, since anybody that installs the system on their car is free to program its sensitivity.

According to the company making it, the sensors are the same any car uses for the ultrasonic parking assistance device. Actually, there is nothing new on the Bumper Bot. It’s a device composed of common technology used in a new way. These sensors are very reliable, durable low draw sensors that require no more electricity than the car’s dash clock.

As we previously said, The Bumper Bot is not only a visual aid for the other driver, but also an audio one. And when a driver comes too close to it, the device flashes its super bright LED displays and the 105 decibel siren wails. In case you’re wondering what happens when a car remains close for a long time, you shouldn’t longer worry since the Bumper Bot does turn off automatically after a while.

You can’t buy one yet since the project is still trying to raise money on Kickstarter, but we’re sure we’ll see it on the market soon enough. Book us for two, please!
