Since the tiny living movement has reached epic proportions, builders have been hard at work creating a variety of designs to meet different homeowner tastes and preferences. One of the main factors contributing to the huge popularity of tiny houses is their incredible versatility. These micro-homes easily lend themselves to a wide range of uses, which makes them even more appealing.
One of the most common uses a tiny house can have, besides temporary or permanent residence, is that of a home office. That's what Brookside, the latest creation from Tiny Mountain Houses, is intended to be - a cute tiny home office in which productivity and simplicity intertwine.

With the ever-growing trend of working from home, people now prefer a more comfortable and private workspace, so tiny offices that anyone can place in their backyard have emerged as a unique solution for people who want to embrace minimalism and efficiency. What's more, if they are built on wheels like Brookside, they also offer the perk of mobility, besides the inherent financial savings and environmental benefits.

Tiny Mountain Houses is a leading compact home designer and builder in the US, and their diverse range includes models of all shapes and sizes, with plenty of scope for customization to emphasize the client's individuality and meet their needs, so it's no surprise to see the company revealing a unit aimed at folks who need a separate space in their backyard that will help them maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Brookside is a tiny home built on a double-axle trailer and measures 22 feet in length and 9.2 feet in width. Built with versatility in mind, this model can be used as a working space or a part-time or full-time residence as it is designed just like a full-blown tiny house with its own kitchen and bathroom, providing owners with everything they need for a comfortable minimalist life, plus a space where they can work without distractions.

As shown in the pictures, Brookside's floorplan includes a living room, a workspace, a kitchen, and a bathroom, but the Silverton, Oregon-based company offers the possibility to extend the build by 10 feet and add a sleeping area to enhance its functionality. With the extension, it could even serve as a backyard guest house, a cozy weekend retreat in the middle of nature, or an income-generating rental unit. With a balanced mix of comfort and functionality, this home can easily adapt to accommodate your needs, and the possibilities are endless.

From an aesthetics standpoint, Brookside boasts a modern design with engineered wood board and batten siding in a soothing blue and gray color combination and a metal single slope shed-style contemporary roof.

The interior offers a studio layout with approximately 206 square feet of living space and is a tribute to simplicity and practicality. The first thing you notice when stepping inside is that the spacious and versatile floorplan is incredibly open, with the only separate space being the bathroom. There is a certain visual separation between the living/working area and the kitchen, but no formal wall or divider, and every nook is designed with style and functionality in mind.

The living room and the office area are on the same side of the house and take up a significant chunk of the floorplan. The company configured the space with a sofa and a small desk and chair in front of a large window. The workspace might seem a bit compact for some, but owners can obviously extend it all the way to the door with a larger desk to accommodate all their work equipment. With big windows that let in lots of natural light, this is the perfect setting for working from home in a calm environment that inspires and encourages productivity.

Moreover, the nearby sofa allows you to take a break and relax whenever you feel like it. There is also a wall-mounted television if you want to keep up with the news or need some entertainment to break away from work.

Brookside also includes a galley-style kitchen that offers plenty of functionality and comes in incredibly handy if you use this unit as an actual living space. It features plenty of base and upper cabinets, laminate or quartz counters, and your choice of laminate or tile backsplash. Though compact, it is very well appointed with modern appliances ranging from a propane black range and a vented hood/microwave to a full-size fridge and optional dishwasher.

The bathroom inside this home follows the same aesthetic as the kitchen and comprises all the basics, namely a top-mount china sink, a shower, and a toilet, plus a closet for linen, towels, and cleaning products.

Apart from its versatility, another aspect that makes Brookside an appealing tiny home/mobile office is its affordability. Without the 10-foot extension, this model costs just $49,995. But if you like the design and want to use it as a living space, you will definitely need a bedroom, and consequently the extension, meaning it will cost you a bit more.
