It wasn’t just automobiles sales that went up at BMW in the second month of the year. Motorcycles sold by the dozen too, posting record numbers too, adding up to a strong 18.3 percent increase.
With 8,098 units sold, the previous month became the record holder for most bikes sold in February for BMW’s Motorrad division. On a year-to-date basis, a total of 13,536 vehicles were sold up until now in 2014, an increase of 16%.

"Following the successful start into the new year we have achieved a significant plus of 18.3 % in sales in February. With a total of 8,098 vehicles sold, this February is the fourth record-selling February in company history in succession. Worldwide demand was satisfyingly high,” said Heiner Faust, Director of Sales and Marketing at BMW Motorrad.

The top seller was, once again, the water-cooled BMW R1200GS, followed by the new R1200GS Adventure and R1200RT models that just went on sale. Starting with this month, two new models will join the range, further spurring on the sales: the R nineT and the S1000R. The long-awaited electric C-Evolution scooter will arrive in dealerships in May therefore sales should grow even further, later on this year.
