After talking trash about the Competition Package BMW M5 and calling it almost every name in the book, the guys from MotorTrend went in a completely different direction when it came to the 4 Series.
They had 2 models for their testing purposes from BMW USA and both of them were acclaimed as 'brilliant', 'impressive' or 'that good'. This time we agree with them, even with the wild idea that the 428i might be a tad better than the range-topping 435i, because of its weight distribution.
Both of them are very well balanced though, offer good performance and a revised design set in 2013. However, their take on the 4er's interior is peculiar, to say the least.
Gues Judge, Chris Theodore went so far as to say that the car's interior is "greatly improved [...] relative to the 3 Series", a statement not even us can't find fair.
Other than that, the 4er was let off easier than its bigger brother and could've very well taken the number one spot if MotorTrend wasn't based in the US. Congratulations to the Cadillac CTS!
