What the brand with the four rings wants is to overtake BMW and become the number one luxury car manufacturer in the world but, if this is to happen, it won't take shape sooner than 2015.
More products will be launched in the near future, 13 of which are expected to released this year, either as entirely-new or just as upgraded vehicles. The A6 sedan, the new A3 concept displayed in Geneva, as well as the Q3 SUV will all see daylight in the near future, Bloomberg reported citing sources familiar with the matter.
“We expect further growth in the long term,” Chief Executive Officer Rupert Stadler said today at Audi’s annual press conference in Ingolstadt, Germany. “This gives us the confidence to extend our product range and expand our international activities.”
China, India and Brazil will play key roles in Audi's global strategy and the company has already taken the necessary measures to be sure it will boost production for these areas. Factories are already working at maximum speed and Audi's chief executives are more than confident that 2011 will be just another successful year. Production in the three countries will expand very soon, while Russia is on track to roll out 50,000 vehicles per year by 2015, up from 18,000 units at this point.
“Our factories are buzzing,” Stadler said. “2011 will mark another year with great workload for us.”
