The regular A5 coupe was one of the best looking cars to have quattro all-wheel drive in a long time, but Audi recently decided to give it, the convertible and the four-door versions a cosmetic makeover that brought a more angular grille and different headlights.
The mighty RS5 coupe and its 450 horsepower was only launched in Europe in the spiring of 2010, but the German carmaker couldn’t leave it alone, sitting in the range like a big pile of un-facelifted junk, so they gave it a makeover as well.
As you’d expect, the biggest change is the arrival of those bevels at the top of the grille and the wavy headlights, but there’s also that sharp looking new hood to consider. You can opt to have your RS5 sit on 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with 265/35 tires or the optional 20-inch wheels with 275/30 tires.
Inside, there’s a new steering wheel with a flatter bottom, new stalks and even a different shifter knob. Overall, the atmosphere will be much sportier and more vigorous.
Under the bonnet sits exactly the same 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that puts out 450 hp at 8,250 rpm, and a peak torque of 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. This juice can only be sent through to the road via a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission and Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system.
