Aston Martin is bringing its racing experience to the road, as the company is launching the V8 Vantage N420 edition.
The vehicle is inspired from the carmaker’s experiences at the Nurburgring 24 hour race and follows the V8 Vantage N400 edition launched in 2007.
The car uses the standard 4.7 liter V8 powerplant developing 420 hp, which offers it a top speed of 180 hp and is available in both the coupe and roadster versions, being available with a six speed manual or an optional Sportshift automated manual transmission.
The most important feature of the new edition is a 27 kg weight reduction, which has been achieved through the use of carbon fiber.
The exterior of the vehicle comes with a carbon fiber splitter, side strakes and diffuser, also featuring wider sills. The car rides on 10 spoke diamond turned alloy wheels that use a gloss black finish. The look is completed by black mesh vents and “Graphitic” tailpipes.
The N420 comes with the Sports Pack (this is an option for the standard model) that includes new springs and dampers, revised anti-roll bars and a sports exhaust system.
The interior of the Vantage V8 has been fitted with an Iridium package, featuring graphite instruments, leather or Alcantara steering wheel, custom N420 sill plaques and lightweight carbon fiber seats. The car’s equipment list includes features such as Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control and park distance control.
Customers can choose to have their Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420 finished in one of the optional “Race Collection” paint schemes. The vehicle enters production this month, with deliveries starting in August. Each car will retail for a price of 96,995 pounds ($146,881).
