Aston Martin was supposed to be an exclusive brand of the most luxurious GTs and sportscars ever to roll of a UK production line, but somewhere along the way they also managed to become so popular that they reached one million Facebook fans.
A nicely rounded figure with a lot of zeros has no meaning, so we tried to put it all in perspective: Ferrari has over 5 million fans on Facebook, while Lamborghini is only at about 750,000. Jaguar only has 458,000 right now, but BMW is sitting pretty on 6.7 million plus another half from BMW USA. You be the judge!
Getting back to Aston Martin, they said that fans of their Facebook page will “be given the unique opportunity to help design a special one-off Aston Martin by answering a series of questions on the social networking site, the most popular answers deciding the specification for the Millionth Fan Car. Starting with the model itself, fans will then be able to explore the full potential of Aston Martin bespoke craftsmanship capabilities by choosing from an extensive choice of interior leather trims, finishes and stitches before selecting an exterior colour scheme, a number of which have been created specifically for this car by the Aston Martin Design team.”
The chosen design will actually be built in March and will be showcased at a number of company events for the duration of 2012.
