Unlike Toyota, other Japanese automakers are less prolific with their new model introductions. As such, whenever a nameplate is up for renewal, everyone goes berserk about it – including the parallel universes of vehicular CGI.
For example, while Toyota had a flurry of concepts and specialty builds at the 2023 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada – its rivals from Nissan focused entirely on bringing rally heritage to life with the attractive Nissan Safari Rally Z Tribute off-road sports car. Of course, diehard fans didn't miss the Project Rugged Rogue, Sentra DET Concept, or the Forsberg Frontier Off-Road Race Truck, either.

Otherwise, it was all about the 2024 model year refreshes and updates, nothing fancy. One notable absentee from the roster is the flagship SUV, which sits atop the family and is composed of the $43k Ariya EV, $21k Kicks, $25k Rogue Sport, $28k Rogue, $38k Murano, and $36k Pathfinder – the Armada off-roader. Starting at $50,700, the 2023 model year full-size SUV is specifically manufactured by Nissan for the North American market.

Now in its second generation (Y62), it was introduced at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show based on the current Nissan Patrol and also twinned with the Infiniti QX80 instead of sharing the architecture of the American-built Titan pickup truck to save costs. Besides, the latter lives on borrowed time and is expected to retire after the 2024 model year, unlike the popular Armada.

Pitted against full-size SUVs like the Toyota Sequoia, Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban, GMC Yukon or Yukon XL, or Ford Expedition, the Nissan Armada needs to come out to play with a new iteration soon. After all, the Y62 Patrol is quite old (it launched in 2010), and an updated version of the Armada was introduced in late 2020 for the 2021 model year.

As such, it is no wonder that even the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is trying to uncover the secrets behind the next-gen Y63 Nissan Armada, which the rumor mill reports coming with a twin-turbo V6 that's better than Toyota or Lexus' mill and an excellent replacement for the outgoing 5.6-liter VK56VD V8 engine.

Just recently, the like-minded good folks from the AutomagzPro and AutomagzTV channels on YouTube had some AI-assisted CGI thoughts about the next-gen Nissan Armada and decided to share them with the help of their resident pixel masters. Bear in mind these are all unofficial renderings, so do take them with a grain of salt, as nothing is official from Nissan just yet.

The CGI expert from AutomagzPro decided on a streamlined approach – the Nissan Armada remains gloriously humongous, but it's also decidedly modern. Meanwhile, the digital author from AutomagzTV went for a more exaggerated, tough-off-roader look that put a big emphasis on divisive styling elements such as a humongous front fascia and big LEDs in the back. So, which one is your favorite, if any?
