Infiniti’s all-new full-size luxury SUV, the QX80, has just celebrated its public premiere at the 2024 New York Auto Show, and it no longer looks like an oddity, as last year’s QX Monograph Concept inspired its design.
It is still boxy, albeit wrapped in a more eye-catching package. The imposing grille decorated with the corporate logo occupies a good chunk of the front fascia. The main clusters sit on each side, below the slim DRLs, and it has a modern back end with a full-width light bar.

We’ve seen dual displays behind a single pane of glass on multiple models, and the new Infiniti QX80 has also adopted this design. The digital instrument cluster and infotainment system each measure 14.3 inches in diagonal, and a 9-inch screen mounted further down provides access to the HVAC system, front seat controls, and drive mode selector.

The cockpit is on the high-end side of things, as it remains a premium proposal gunning for the likes of the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade. There’s a mix of leather, metal, and wood accents inside, an ambient lighting system, a cool box available as an option, and many other things. The new QX80 also has Google built-in features for a techier appeal and a premium sound system.

While the old one came with a 5.6L v8, the 2025 QX80 features a 3.5L twin-turbo V6, which offers a replacement for displacement. It is 50 hp (51 ps/37 kW) and 103 pound-foot (139 Nm) of torque punchier, as it is rated at 450 hp (456 ps/336 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm). It’s paired with a new nine-speed auto that retires the old seven-speed unit, delivering the thrust to the rear wheels or the available four-wheel drive system.

The first units of the redesigned QX80 will arrive at dealers nationwide this summer. The lineup comprises the Pure, Luxe, Sensory, and Autograph grades, and the most affordable version kicks off at $82,450 plus a $1,995 destination charge (plus dealer fees). The most affordable Cadillac Escalade starts at $81,895, and the base Lincoln Navigator has a $83,265 MSRP.

Infiniti offers the entry-level QX80 with rear-wheel drive, whereas the four-wheel drive system is a $3,100 option. Next in line is the Luxe, priced from $89,550, or $92,650, when it comes to the 4WD variant. The Sensory and Autograph grades both feature standard four-wheel drive. They top the lineup with respective MSRPs of $100,645 and $110,595.

The new 2025 Infiniti QX80 promises to be a better overall vehicle than its predecessor, and we cannot wait to see just how good it is. Still, its biggest rivals in the segment are also very good. That said, if you had to choose between the three, what color would your Cadillac Escalade have?
