Alongside white, black has always been one of the most popular color choices for a car’s body. But unlike white, black has a more mysterious feel to it, some would say it's even evil... And going black over black only adds to that perception.
I guess achieving the “I’m up to no good” look heavily depends on the car too. Minivans will never get that, no matter what you do to them, while pickup trucks, well, they seem to have been born for this. Case in point, the black over black 1970 Dodge Power Wagon we’ve got here.

Currently listed as for sale on Bring a Trailer, the pickup is the perfect representative of a vehicle that’s meant to chase innocent teenagers or families down deserted American roads.

It rides high enough, thanks to the more than visible lift and the 35-inch rubber wrapped around the 15-inch wheels, so you only get to see the grille in the rearview mirror. Below it, there is the extended bumper fitted with a winch (it once had a snowplow, we’re told), and above, the long hood with Dodge lettering on the nose.

Under the hood, the black specter hides a 383-ci (6.3-liter) V8 with a single carburetor paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case.

The interior is something only the driver gets to see, not you, the one being chased. The one behind the steering wheel is treated to black vinyl on the seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, or an old cassette player, for effect.

The truck is interesting enough to have caught the eye of several online bidders. With two days left in the process at the time of writing, the highest bid is $21,000. Whoever ends up getting it also lands a factory manual, original sales documents, and a clean Mississippi title.
