Alguersuari Plays DJ at Barcelona Summer Week

Formula One's youngest driver Jaime Alguersuari is certainly full of other talents as well, not only mastering Formula One machineries at only 19 years of age. As reported by the GMM news agency, it seems the Spanish teenager was invited to play disc-jockey at the “Barcelona Summer Week” techno music festival.

The aforementioned event got under way on August 3 and ended yesterday night, Alguersuari being asked by the organizers at the wheel of a disc-jockey's turntable. Out reports don't mention how the young Toro Rosso driver did, but the simple presence of an F1 driver at the BSW must have been a success regardless of how it turned out.

Within the multitude of music stars present at the Catalan event, one could mention Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Tiesto, Goldfish and many others. So maybe Alguersuari had plenty to learn from the “big guys”, before making his official debut as STR DJ in one of Red Bull's many F1-themed parties.

Seriously now, the reason for Jaime to spend these 2 weeks outside Formula One action was because all teams have agreed on a 14-day inactivity period prior to the European Grand Prix at Valencia. With all factories closing their gates until next week and no testing allowed during the season, all F1 drivers took a well-deserved vacation these days.

Action at Faenza – as well as all the other factories in Formula One – will resume on August 16, in order for all F1 outfits to prepare themselves for the Valencia race. No major updates are expected for the STR4 in Spain.
