Yesterday's rumor is today's production reality, as Alfa Romeo has revealed a significantly updated Giulietta 'Quadrifoglio Verde' hot hatch ahead of the Geneva Motor Show, where it will be revealed.
Here's what you really need to know: the Giulietta makes 240 HP now, a bit more than before. This is because Alfa engineers have fitted the car with the same 1750 Turbo engine as the now-famous 4C sportcar that everybody is talking about. The engine is made from lighter aluminum and features direct fuel injection. Also fitted to the new QV is the "state-of-the-art 'Alfa TCT' 6-speed twin dry clutch transmission," an updated version of the unit that was already in the car.

As a result of getting the same engine and transmission as the 4C, the Giulietta QV is faster. 0 to 100 km/h now takes 6.6 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the current model.

Just like the rest of the 2014 Alfa Romeo family, there are cosmetic updates being made as well. For starters, a new Magnesio Grey body color has been created specifically for the 'Launch Edition' special series produced in a limited edition of only 500 vehicles. Also available in Alfa Red and in Competizione Red, which is a sexy triple-coat finish.

Stepping inside, the 2014 Giulietta QV welcomes the eye of the potential buyer with a new steering wheel inspired by the 4C, new instruments with dedicated graphics and QV logo and new leather and Alcantara bucket seats.
