Scandinavian minimalism and the tiny living philosophy have been intertwined since the beginning. What better way to take this connection to the next level than by incorporating a concept that literally defines coziness and contentment as a way of life? This Danish tiny house successfully embodied the famous hygge while also paving the way for tiny house resorts in Scandinavia.
These two words go together perfectly – Tiny Hygge is the name of a young brand born in Denmark just two years ago. Three people, Vibeke Eddau, Ulrik Ortiz Rasmussen, and Henrik Frisenberg, founded a tiny house building company called Tiny Hygge in 2021.

Just a year later, they opened what would become the first Tiny House Camp Resort in Scandinavia – Tiny Seaside. Similar camp resorts followed in the next years, with great success. Through the Seaside Camping subsidiary, the original founders are also developing or modernizing campsites based on the tiny hygge concept.

The idea is simple, and we've seen it done successfully in other parts of the world also – vacation resorts comprised of tiny homes on wheels (THOWs) that offer comfortable accommodation, premium amenities, and all the cozy features of a personal home while also staying in harmony with nature and cutting costs. One of the great advantages of these small mobile dwellings is that they can be transported anywhere, and they can easily integrate into all-natural environments due to their minimal footprint.

The Tiny Seaside Houses sit right on the beach, as close as possible to the water, offering a unique connection to the Danish Baltic Sea. The advantage of being self-contained and fully equipped with all the modern basics allows guests to be fully immersed in their vacation experience and see this as their private paradise. At the same time, they can feel good knowing that the Tiny Seaside has a minimal impact on the environment and that each house in the resort was built sustainably.

Tiny Seaside became the most popular design created by Tiny Hygge and the one that will always be associated with this pioneering camp resort concept in the region. It stands out due to an atypical layout centering around a so-called "hygge corner." It's the brand's personalized version of a living area in the form of a raised lounge, similar to a reverse loft.

Instead of the common configuration with a main floor living room and a loft bedroom above, Tiny Seaside reveals a ground floor bedroom, placing the lounge area above it. This creates a generous space with plenty of room for cozy seating, a large table, and a wall-mounted TV.

An oversized rear window brings the outdoors in for a closer connection to nature. The result is a cocoon-like relaxation spot that perfectly embodies the famous concept of hygge – relaxing and enjoying the small pleasures of life together with loved ones.

The bedroom underneath the hygge corner is surprisingly comfy, despite its unusual placement. It's large enough to fit in a king-sized mattress and multiple storage shelves. The windows, including a circular one, ensure cross-ventilation, also creating a cozy, playful atmosphere that kids, in particular, would love.

The Tiny Seaside also boasts a separate loft bedroom for two more people, fitted with generous windows and a generous storage cabinet doubling as a protection wall. The bathroom is downright luxurious, especially for a tiny vacation home that sits right on the beach.

The full-sized, tiled rain shower is combined with underfloor heating for an indulging experience. In addition to the elegant sink and conventional toilet, this bathroom offers enough space for neatly storing smaller items and for a washer/dryer unit.

Tiny Seaside's kitchen is as modern as it is charming. It's packed with premium appliances and generous storage solutions that keep it clutter-free. The vacation rental version even comes with a toaster, kettle, and electric grill for cooking outside on the deck.

Speaking of the deck, it's wide enough to be turned into a perfect outdoor haven with sun loungers, multiple chairs, and a large table. The home's glass doors and large windows create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow that, together with this beautiful terrace, blurs the line between the home's interior and the outside space.

You might be surprised at how small the Tiny Seaside actually is – just a little over seven meters (23 feet), with a total surface of 21 square meters (226 square feet). The ingenious layout and minimalistic design make it feel much more spacious. Up to four people can be comfortably accommodated inside the Tiny Seaside, enjoying all the comfort of a modern, luxury beach house.

While boasting premium features like underfloor heating, air conditioning, and top-quality kitchen and bathroom equipment, the Tiny Seaside is also sustainable. It's built using Japanese cedar for the exterior cladding, which is both sustainable and easy to maintain, while the insulation is based on sheep wool. It also consumes a lot less than conventional houses or vacation rentals. Plus, the Danish builder is committed to only using green electricity from solar and wind power.

The Tiny Seaside homes are available for booking in various locations and can also be delivered to private owners. A house like this takes about three to four months to be completed. Tiny Hygge also offered used Tiny Seaside homes for sale, with pricing starting at €89,500 ($99,680).
