Acura to Advertise Thor

Having established a strong presence in the movie industry this year, with a whole range of vehicles used in the Thor movie, the luxury division of Japanese automaker Honda has decided to play a more active role in the motion picture that might become the blockbuster of the spring.

With Thor waiting to enter the movie theaters on May 6, Acura is getting ready to advertise both the motion picture and the models in it through a marketing campaign announced on Wednesday. Together with Marvel Entertainment, Acura launched an interactive website that will become the main stage of the national advertising campaign. On the website, users will make full use of the power of social media to spread the word about the movie and Acura's involvement on their own.

Their efforts will be acknowledged with a wide array of prizes, including movie tickets, iPad 2 tablet computers, LiveScribe "smart pens" or a mysterious grand prize Acura calls “an exclusive evasive-driving experience.”

"Acura is thrilled to launch this joint venture with Marvel," said Susie Rossick, brand manager of Acura National Advertising. "Being the official vehicle of the cutting edge S.H.I.E.L.D. organization is a perfect opportunity to reinforce Acura's brand philosophy of innovation and advancement."

As for the movie, we bet most of you already know what it's all about. Thor, another important character from the Marvel universe, will go about his destructive business surrounded by what may be considered the liaison between all the Marvel comics, super-duper ultra-secret agency SHIELD. For more, go and see the movie.
