A dealership in Germany, abandoned ages ago, looks as if it was the set for a horror movie. Cars waiting to be repaired, a showroom full of exhibited vehicles that were vandalized, and food still in the fridge. What in the world happened to this place?
There are cars parked outside in the backyard. Actually, "cars" is not the right term because there isn't really much left of them. Windows are shattered, and items from inside must have been stolen. Two Kia Clarus, a sedan and an estate, look like vehicles that were crashed and, years later, are still waiting to be repaired. But the repairing will probably never happen.

The former offices of the poor dealership are a mess. There are boxes thrown everywhere, pieces of furniture spread all around, and files sitting on top of everything. You can barely find room to step without risking to sprinkle your ankle in there.

The multi-brand workshop hosts two more Kias. A Kia Rio dating back to the early 2000s is placed up on the lift. It lacksi the exhaust system, so it is obvious that thieves got everything they could, even if they barely reached it.

A Kia Cee’d, with the hood popped open, sits on the shop floor. There is a Nissan Almera hatchback on another lift located nearby, still waiting to get fixed. Probably, the only procedure that awaits it is the crusher.

There is a small room that seems to have been the kitchen and there is still food in the fridge. But the space was torn apart like any other room.

The LADA lettering that shows up on the wall is a hint that Lada cars were also sold and fixed there. But there is no sight of the Russian model anymore. However, the dealership was originally a Lada dealership.

The parts stock room is also a mess. However, the thieves probably did not reach this room because otherwise, they would not have left that many spare parts behind. There are boxes stacked on shelves with literally everything. There are wheels, bumpers, battery packs.

The reception, where customers were welcomed, is devastated. Posters depicting images from motor racing are still on the walls. A brand-new Volkswagen Passat powered by a V6 turbodiesel engine and a Kia Carnival were also vandalized.

Promotional materials show photos of the Kia Elan, the Clarus, the Magenta, and of the Sorento SUV, but also of the Lada Niva, the model still marketed in Russia.

A calendar on the wall of an office indicates that the last day it was used was December 19, 2019, which was more than four years ago. However, none of the cars in the showroom or service is that new. It makes one think that probably one of the thieves messed with the calendar and that December 19, 2019, was probably the day of the latest theft.

It turns out that the dealership featured on the Forgotten Buildings YouTube channel was founded by two brothers. One of them handled the sales, while the other one was responsible for the service shop.

They started out with Lada models but eventually switched to Kia when they realized that the brand was gaining traction at the beginning of the 2000s. But the family-owned business soon came crashing down.

Around 15 years ago, the two brothers who owned the place did what brothers do sometimes: had a fight, which sent the business into bankruptcy. Their egos made them close down almost all operations with no warning whatsoever.

There is no information about what happened to the employees and why the cars were left there when they could have tried to sell the new ones and return the used ones to their owners, fixed or not.

The service shop kept operating until 2019. Then, the place was abandoned. The security firm was not paid either, so the place had no protection from the perpetrators.

How in the world did the owners of these cars being fixed in the dealership shop just leave them there and never want them back? Behind all the secrets unveiled, there are still questions to be answered.

Abandoned Ford dealership is a time capsule

Last year, we reported about an abandoned Ford dealership that was also located in Germany, but that one was left intact. And the time capsule had quite a story as well. The widow of the owner, who had passed away in 1994, kept on taking care of the place, renovated it, and constantly brought in cleaning firms to dust it off.

Cars from the late 1980s and 1990s sat on the showroom floor, with the seats still covered in protective plastic and the odometers still showing less than 5 miles.

For a while, she received visitors. But she decided to put an end to it when guests started leaving with parts of the cars exhibited in the showroom.

The widow of the former owner now resides in a care home. So it probably won't take long before the showroom has the same fate as the one vandalized.
