Driving in Hollywood Hills always comes with surprises. And one of them is Mickey Rourke's house with spectacular views over Los Angeles. Several luxury and sports cars are parked around it, all covered in dust, some sporting flat tires. However, there is a Lamborghini Aventador whose background is weird, to say the least. Could it be the Aventador stolen in 2015 for which the owner offered $100,000 in cash through a detective agency?
Mickey Rourke's white-painted house sits on top of the Hollywood Hills, surrounded by cars that seem abandoned. Every once in a while, someone checks on them, changes their position, and eventually drives away without drawing much attention. But the cars are always left there, covered in dust.

The door of the house is boarded up, which might be a sign that nobody goes in or out. So, neighbors claiming that they sometimes see the lights on in the garage and inside the house might be just a strategy to keep burgers away. Someone on TikTok told them that the garage door was open the day before.

A white Rolls-Royce Wraith sits parked in the street, on the verge of changing its color due to the thick layer of dirt that has been depositing on it over the past few months.

The license plate frame reads "Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Charlotte," which is a dealership in North Carolina. That is probably where the ultra-luxury grand tourer must have been purchased. The tag on the license plate says 8/01/2023, which means that the car was involved on August 1, last year.

There is also a gray Bentley Mulsanne sitting parked next to a fence, behind a black Ferrari F40 convertible with no license. The paint seems cracked, which is a hint that the Italian sports car must have been sitting out there, braving the elements for quite some time.

A green Dodge Charger, also plagued by dust, has the driver's window replaced by plastic foil. There are specks of rust showing up on the front end. Some months before, the classic Charger showed up in the video with that window half slid down, revealing a cabin full of dust.

The silhouette of a Lamborghini Aventador is visible under a silver cover. The car is parked in front of a garage door. Hours later, when the team drives downhill, the Rolls-Royce is gone.

People on social media told them that the Bentley and the Ferrari are subject to some insurance claims. But it is the Lamborghini that has an intriguing story. Ten month ago, when Gordon from the Effspot YouTube channel passed by, the cars were in different positions around the house, but still very dusty.

The Euro-spec Lamborghini Aventador was with the top down back then. What would a Euro-spec Lamborghini do in America? Gordon started searching for an answer.

The Lamborghini Aventador, subject to a hide-and-seek game

He remembered that he had seen that car before, but at that time, it was wrapped in green and then unwrapped, revealing the original white paint. He discovered there is a mystery surrounding that car the moment he failed to find the VIN on Google.

He kept digging. He found out it was a Lamborghini for the Italian market. With the help of a friend, he learned that the Lambo was registered as a kit car under an LLC (limited liability company). Another friend suggested him to google "stolen Lamborghini Aventador 2015" to see what popped out.

He found an article in the New York Post, referring to a $100,000 reward in cash offered for whoever provided information about a stolen Lamborghini through a detective agency. The article said that the car was stolen in New York even before the owner even got the chance to insure it. He decided not to go to the police. Instead, he asked for the help of a detective firm.

After spending thousands of hours trying to track down the Lamborghini, consulting authorities and friends, Gordon still can't tell for sure if the car stolen in 2015 is the one that he saw parked in front of Mickey Rourke's luxury home in Hollywood Hills.

Someone in the comments section said that the model was under the lien registry in Poland, a place where many crashed cars get fixed and sent back to the road.

Another one claims that the Lambo was spotted in Atlanta some years ago and believes it must have been brought to the US in 2015 for a rally.

Another user claimed that it might be possible that the car was stolen, had its VIN modified, and was registered as a kit car to wash it clean. Furthermore, he suggests that it might be subject to what is a common practice for smuggled cars in China.

The stolen vehicles got their VINs replaced with others sourced from crashed/salvaged tittle cars, the perpetrators claim a rebuild and make them legally registered vehicles.
