The Honda S2000 has a well-deserved place in the garage that is our heart, with plenty of aficionados still wishing that the Japanese automotive producer would come up with a replacement for the rear-wheel-drive, modern-day icon. Nevertheless, the S2K is not without its limits.
The limitations of the Honda roadster come both in terms of handling (think: snap oversteer) and acceleration. And we're here to showcase an example of the machine that has definitely overcome the latter.
You see, the Japanese automotive producer came up with the S2000 as an overall performer, but the example we have here has been modded for straight-line domination.
We're not sure about the hardware that now lies under the hood of this Honda S2000, but we can tell you that the machine allows its driver to play with no less than 750 horses at the rear wheels, hence the crankshaft hp estimation tou can see in the title above.
Interestingly, the machine still holds three pedals, even though rowing through the gears at full blow doesn't exactly come easy.
In fact, we've brought along a piece of footage that showcases this S2K at work, with the thing having recently hit the track. The Honda was involved in a drag racing event, one that saw it duking it out with multiple competitors.
And there was one race that drew our attention in particular, as the Honda S2000 duked it out with a sixth-generation Chevrolet Corvette.
The 'Vette we're talking about was born as a Z06, which isn't too bad as a starting point. Nevertheless, the owner had the thing taken all the way to a thousand horsepower (some people simply enjoy nicely rounded output figures).
Keep in mind that the drag races you're about to see are 1/3-mile challenges involving rolling starts that take place at around 60 mph.
