The 2016 Viper ACR is so good at flying from one vibrator to another on the track that some have even went for the far stretch of calling it "a purpose-built racecar." Such shenanigans aside, certain ACR owners simply can't have enough, which means they turn to the aftermarket world.
The 2016 Viper ACR shown in the video at the bottom of the page is an example as good as any, with the supercar packing a reasonable amount of mods. The extreme aero package that comes from the factory takes care of just about everything in terms of the visual aura, so don't expect any custom goodies in this area.
However, the bits you don't get to see are the ones making this ACR special among its kind. We'll start with the most impressive feature (regarding the show), which is a custom exhaust featuring straight pipes.
This Dodge also packs the Viper Exchange heads and cam package - Stage II allows the monstrous V10 occupying the nose of the supercar to deliver some 100 hp over its stock output, which means 650 ponies at the rear wheels, hence the crank output estimation in the title above.
Despite the Viper packing such goodies, the 8.4-liter V10 gets woken up while inside a small garage. So, as you can expect, the piece of footage below provides a delicious aural experience, albeit a brief one.
The only problem with installing such mods is that they take away the Viper's streetability factor. However, since the standard ACR, if we may call it so, was already too loud and required its chin to be removed for daily driving, this doesn't exactly come as a surprise.
We suspect the vicious nature of the soundtrack has to do with the fact that the V10 didn't get to demonstrate its newly-found badassery premium. Then again, when an engine has such a sweet voice, we can't hold anything against such an aural episode.
