Toyota just released the first teaser for its big novelty coming at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the middle of November. But there are other novelties to deal with before we see the ninth-gen XV80 Camry in all its glory.
The Japanese automaker may be gearing up in America for the LA Auto Show (November 17-26), but a little later this month, we first journey to Tokyo for the inaugural 2023 Japan Mobility Show (October 26 – November 5), where both Toyota and Lexus have big and small novelties.

The latter will present an entire lineup of conceptual EVs while the namesake Toyota brand caters to everything and everyone with stuff like the IMV 0 concept pickup truck, the boxy and modular KAYOIBAKO van-like EV, as well as the FT-3e crossover SUV plus FT-Se sports car EV. However, aside from these great prototypes, the company's portal dedicated to JMS still has five more placeholders titled "Stay tuned for more" at the moment of press!

That means we could see as many as five surprises during the official press days of the novel event taking place at Tokyo Big Sight! And, according to the rumor mill, one of them will be the reported 'Land Hopper' rugged SUV, a compact version of the newly introduced J250 Land Cruiser (Prado) and J300 Land Cruiser featured on the same TNGA-F body-on-frame platform as its larger siblings.

The tiny Land Cruiser has made the rounds of the rumor mill ever since the 2024 Land Cruiser's official presentation included a shadowy silhouette of a seven-seat EV crossover SUV sitting in front of a compact-sized rugged SUV. Plus, there is also the reported 'Land Hopper' filling that was caught red-handed around the same time as the J250 was officially introduced.

Of course, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has quickly caught wind of the proceeds and started dreaming of designing the first-ever 2025 Toyota 'Land Hopper.' Interestingly, the idea of a rugged yet compact Toyota SUV was met with flourishing thoughts about potential competition – as such, no one should be surprised that some think the Jeep Renegade's second generation should be reconsidered as a larger, compact SUV model slotting directly below the Jeep Wrangler with a body-on-frame chassis.

And in case you were wondering how the Land Hopper and redesigned Jeep Wrangler might look like, the good folks from the AutomagzPro, Real Automotive, and Next-Gen Car channels on YouTube have some AI-assisted CGI thoughts about these tiny new SUVs. All of them look decidedly adventurous, and we especially like the unofficial treatment bestowed upon the Land Hopper because it makes it feel connected to the Land Cruiser without being a shrunken copycat. As for the imagined Renegade, the Wrangler influence is pretty straightforward, right?
