If you look at what's next in 2024 for electric passenger cars, SUVs, and trucks, you will easily find many interesting things from Tesla, the brand that dominates worldwide sales without argument (save for China, perhaps).
As far as we can tell, because of lower concerns about fossil fuels, the automotive industry as a whole is taking a step back from the EV bloodbath of 2023, so it will be extremely interesting to check out what happens in 2024 and what everyone brings to the table. Well, as far as Tesla is concerned, it has a trio of essential procedures.

First, they must bring the Model 3 Highland refresh to everyone, including the all-important American public. Currently, US buyers still only have access to the older Model 3, whereas European customers already enjoy the Highland novelties. At least the RWD Model 3 still kicks off at $39k, and it has another two options – Long Range ($46k) and Performance ($51k).

Secondly, Tesla really needs to ramp up production of the Cybertruck because folks eagerly expect the company to proceed with the facelift of the Model Y – called 'Juniper' – before the end of 2024. But what if EV enthusiasts have another thing to eagerly await in the form of a fourth Model 3 derivative?

According to the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, there's a possibility that Tesla could aim for the fastest EV sedan in the world title with a tri-motor Model 3 emulating the Plaid moniker like its more expensive and larger Model S and Model X siblings. The good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube have imagined the CGI looks of the unannounced 2025 or 2026 Tesla Model 3 Plaid, and their resident pixel master is keen to show that – at least unofficially – the regular version doesn't need too many changes to act like a supercar.

Instead, the unofficial design project envisions the potential Tesla Model 3 Plaid with a reworked front bumper, larger and lightweight alloy wheels, red brake calipers and crimson Tesla badges, beefier brakes, and some carbon fiber parts to make it lighter on top of sporting the 1,020-hp tri-motor Plaid setup. Naturally, the CGI expert also exposed an entire color palette for this unofficial Model 3 Plaid.

Unfortunately, nothing is official just yet, and we have a feeling that a Model 3 Plaid is probably merely wishful thinking. First, Tesla won't sabotage its Model S and Model X Plaid variants by introducing a smaller, nimbler, and less expensive Model 3 Plaid. Secondly, we are pretty sure that Tesla has its hands full at the moment trying to ramp up Cybertruck production, introduce the Model 3 Highland redesign at home in America, and also diligently prepare for the arrival of the facelifted Model Y 'Juniper.'
