Our spy photographers capture a great number of upcoming vehicles doing their thing in the open on a constant basis. One of the latest to have ended up in our inbox is the 2025 Fiat Ducato, and we would've normally said no to dedicating an entire story to it, but we obviously haven't.
The reason is simple: camper vans have become more popular than ever, and since pretty much any commercial vehicle that falls in this category qualifies for the tiny home away from home conversion, we think we will eventually see such rides based on the upcoming Fiat Ducato, too.

You see, the third-generation Fiat Ducato has been around since 2006, so it certainly is an old model. Also marketed as the Ram ProMaster, it has received several updates so far, and with the Italian automaker not willing to inject a huge amount of cash into the development of its successor, they have decided that another facelift is what it needs.

Since it has a good chunk of the front end under wraps, it is obvious where the big visual updates lie. The vehicle has a new set of headlamps, a different bumper, and what seems to be a more sizeable grille that will likely host the Fiat logo in the middle. The profile looks the same, and so does the entire back end, for that matter. Still, we think the taillights will be updated.

With the prototype nabbed sitting quietly in a parking lot, our spy photographers managed to get close enough to take a few pictures of the updated cabin. One of the biggest novelties here is the digital instrument cluster. We can also see the infotainment screen that presumably runs a new software and a tiny gear selector on models equipped with an automatic transmission. The air vents, cubbies, central console, and almost everything else seem to carry over with no modifications.

In the safety department, the current Ducato enjoys stuff such as the lane keep assist, cross-wind assist, trailer stability control, adaptive cruise control, active park assist, and others, and the upcoming facelifted iteration will probably retain all systems, some of which could be revised. The powertrain family was already updated a few years back to meet the latest Euro 6D emission regulations, and it's offered with 120, 140, 160, and 180 ps (118/138/158/177 hp/88/103/118/132 kW) with a six-speed manual transmission. The automatic version is reserved for the latter three.

Our spy photographers believe the upcoming facelift will launch for the 2025 model year, though we're not so sure about that. If we were to guess, we'd say a possible introduction sometime in 2024 for the European market seems plausible. But we'll have to wait and see when the upcoming Ducato is due and if it gets additional novelties than those mentioned here.
