A couple of days ago, we showed you the first images of the refreshed 2024 Kia Sorento. Those pictures were part of the official media release, as we initially anticipated. However, the mid-size crossover SUV has been found in a parking lot wearing no camouflage and sporting a different color than what we have previously seen.
The Kia Sorento is a somewhat popular model in the US. The automaker has sold around 100,000 units every year since 2016. That's not very surprising, though. Americans like a higher driving position and enjoy the perks of a three-row SUV, improved ground clearance included.

After three years since the fourth generation landed in the US, Kia decided to refresh the model. That's how it brings the crossover in line with its newest units but without diluting its aura. This rejuvenation process adds a couple of novelties but keeps the vehicle's definitory traits.

The same source that brought us the first glimpses of the 2024 Sorento now shows us the facelifted SUV sitting inconspicuously in a parking lot between other cars. It blends well with sedans, even though it's a fair bit larger than them. Admittedly, it helps that all the other vehicles are also white. That makes it harder to spot Sorento's overall dimensions. Still, the silhouette is undeniably Kia.

The spotted unit confirms that Telluride and EV9 inspired the new T-shaped headlight design. Besides looking fresh, the new daytime-running light design also gives the crossover a boxier front-end look. It looks determined but not aggressive. It has enough novelty on the outside without adopting extrovert qualities.

The side profile shows generous windowed surfaces, clear lines, and some plastic cladding covering the body parts most prone to road debris damage. It may not look very premium, but it's a good trick to make the Sorento look more practical and save owners from spending good money on paint.

That's where we also notice a new wheel design, which makes us believe more options will follow as soon as the configurator is up.

The facelift brings forward the updated taillights that are now joined together at the top. The rear camera remains visible, but the rear windshield wiper is carefully tucked away under the third brake light or safety brake lamp. The "Opposites United" design philosophy is working out rather well for the marque.

Overall, this feels like a good facelift. It looks like the South Korean borrowed some BMW wisdom and are not risking useless updates or wild redesigns. Maybe that's why the new iteration doesn't take too much away from the OG fourth-generation model. It's a small yet welcomed improvement and it will certainly help with keeping sales at a satisfactory level.

Even though we don't get a look at the cabin in this case, we've seen last time that the interior isn't very different on the 2024 model-year unit. There's just one new touch-sensitive panel introduced, new screens added, some brushed-metal inserts, and a couple of minor rearrangements done. Customers should also expect new interior colors. Cityscape Green, Interstellar Grey, and Volcanic Brown are joining the brand's updated offer for this vehicle.

It remains to be seen if the 2024 Kia Sorento will be launched in the US with a price hike. The existing model-year crossover SUV has a starting pre-tax price of $30,090 for the LX trim.

Car shows on TV and his father's Fiat Tempra may have been Florin's early influences, but nowadays he favors different things, like the power of an F-150 Raptor. He'll never be able to ignore the shape of a Ferrari though, especially a yellow one.
