2024 marks a big change for the Gladiator. More specifically, the folks at Stellantis decided to discontinue their 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 from the lineup in favor of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. As ever, the gas-fed mill can be had with either a manual from Aisin or an eight-speed automatic from ZF.
Gifted with the redesigned front grille of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler, the mid-size pickup truck is now available to configure in the United States from $37,895 (plus $1,895 for the destination fee). That means the Sport grade is $39,790 at the very least. The Rubicon X will set you back at least $64,890.

It will get even pricier, though, next year. As per the hourly agreement between the UAW and Stellantis from November 2023, the Wrangler 4xe will be upgraded in 2025. Next year will also see a Gladiator 4xe rolling off the assembly line in Toledo, and come 2028, the JL Wrangler will be replaced by the J70 Wrangler. Thus far, Stellantis confirmed battery-electric and range-extended electric powertrains for the upcoming J70.

Turning our attention back to the 2024 model year Gladiator, prospective customers have to settle for 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet (353 Nm) of torque as opposed to 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet (637 Nm) for the Wrangler 4xe. It's highly probable the 2025 upgrade will crack into the 400s, although 375 is more than enough as long as Stellantis can squeeze out more driving range.

For 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency estimates 22 miles (35 kilometers) without any intervention from the Pentastar six. With the combustion engine, starter generator, and traction motor working together, that would be 49 miles per gallon equivalent (4.8 liters per 100 kilometers).

Those in the market for the Sport, which is arguably the best grade of the bunch for aftermarket modifications, are presented with 17-inch steelies, 32-inch tires, a premium canvas top, side curtain airbags for both the first and second row, fog lamps, eight audio speakers, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 2.72:1 transfer case. Level up to the Sport S if you can't do without power door locks and windows, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.

The Willys and Mojave are both derived from the Sport S, and both of them are highly capable off the beaten path. The Willys, for example, comes with a rear locking differential. As for the Mojave, highlights include a selectable high-speed rear locker, FOX internal bypass shocks and hydro jounce bumpers, high-clearance fender flares, rock rails, and more aggressive front seat bolsters.

Now arriving at dealers nationwide, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator can be had in a grand total of nine paint colors. The list kicks off with Anvil, followed by Hydro Blue, High Velocity, Bright White, Black, Silver Zynith, Granite Crystal, and Firecracker Red. All grades come with the Uconnect 5 system, although navigation is standard on the Mojave X, Rubicon, and Rubicon X. Uconnect 5 means over-the-air software updates, a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices, and up to seven USB ports.

Sport, Willys, Mojave, and Rubicon grades can be further improved by Jeep dealers with upfit packages from American Expedition Vehicles. The most extreme is dubbed Level II. Exclusive to the Rubicon and Rubicon X, the Level II increases off-road capability with 37-inch BFGs, a winch, Savegre II wheels, and many more.
