Unlike during the past decades, the world-famous North American International Auto Show didn't open the automotive season in January, as the Detroit event is now rescheduled to cater to the fall's premieres.
Old Continent fans are currently focused on IAA Mobility 2023 – another automotive event that had to reinvent itself and recently moved from Frankfurt to Munich. But across the big pond (aka the Atlantic Ocean), folks are diligently preparing for Detroit's bonanza between September 13 and 24. And there's a lot to expect – from Tesla's unusual attendance to extensive support from all three Big Detroit automakers. In effect, no less than 35 brands will have something for the general audience, which will gain access to Huntington Place in Downtown Detroit from September 16.
A lot of new experiences are expected at the show, including the "Powering Michigan EV Experience" indoor track, where several brands will reportedly showcase their electric vehicles amid the automotive industry's shift toward prioritizing EVs. But that doesn't mean there won't be any ICE-ing on the show's cake.
And one of the biggest introductions allegedly coming to the Detroit Auto Show is the 2024 Ford F-150 full-size pickup truck – completely redesigned for the mid-cycle upgrade. Most venues expect the best-selling F-Series versions with evolutionary design and the potential introduction of a fresh 'Lobo' trim for the US market.
But, of course, that is only enough in the real world, maybe. Things are a lot different for the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. As such, after diligently taking care of the regular versions, the good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube, who have a satellite venue dubbed AutoYa Interior, and that's where all the (CGI) Ford action occurs, have decided to focus their attention on the 2024/2025 F-150 Raptor and/or Raptor R.
The host doesn't expect too many changes on the high-performance dune-bashing and rock-crawling versions either, even less so than the regular F-150 – which is probably going to receive the vertical infotainment screen from various SUV models and the all-electric F-150 Lightning. As such, the hypothetical project of the 2024 or 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor R is presented with an updated front fascia with subtly changed headlights, plus a larger touchscreen inside the cockpit – still with landscape orientation.
However, the host and the resident pixel master are surely trying to compensate for these safe choices by FoMoCo with an entire roster of additional, unofficial color choices – both for the cabin and the body. We probably won't get any changes from the Blue Oval regarding the oily bits. Frankly, that's a shame – imagine how the F-150 Raptor would sell with 500 hp like the Mustang Dark Horse and the Raptor R with 800+ hp like the Mustang GTD!
