A three-row crossover with a dash of luxury, the Buick Enclave has entered the 2024 model year almost unchanged from 2023. The order guide attached below lists nothing remotely new, yet Buick's configurator surprises with lower prices for the majority of grades.
Let's begin with the front-wheel-drive Essence, Premium, and Avenir, which carry sticker prices of $45,295, $52,595, and $58,895 (excluding the $1,395 destination freight charge). Last year, said trims were $46,195, $53,430, and $58,865. In other words, only the Avenir FWD is only $30 more expensive than before.

Moving on to all-wheel-drive trims, prepare to shell out $47,295, $54,595, and $60,895 as opposed to $48,195, $55,430, and $60,865 for the 2023 model year. As you may have noticed by now, the starting price of the Avenir AWD remains unchanged. Production kicked off in June 2023, and the next-generation Enclave is due in the second half of 2024 for the 2025 model year.

It's high time for General Motors to revamp Buick's largest utility vehicle. Lest we forget, the second-gen Enclave rolled out in 2017 for 2018 on the C1XX platform that also underpins the Cadillac XT6, GMC Acadia, and Chevrolet Traverse. Said crossovers are GM's largest crossovers available in the US at press time.

Buick slots between Cadillac and GMC in the Detroit-based automaker's brand hierarchy, which explains why the Enclave is $45,295 compared to $50,190 for the XT6 and $38,195 for the Acadia. The 2024 Buick Enclave comes exclusively with 3.6L naturally-aspirated V6 muscle and nine forward gears.

The aforementioned engine is referred to as LFY after the regular production order code. A development of the LFX due to the addition of stop-start technology and better airflow, the LFY cranks out a respectable 310 horsepower at 6,800 revolutions per minute and 266 pound-feet (make that 359 Nm) at 2,800 spinnies.

Given its curb weight of nearly 4,400 pounds (just under 2,000 kilograms) from the outset, it definitely isn't a frugal SUV. With standard front-wheel drive, you'll be lucky to get 21 miles per gallon (11.2 liters per 100 kilometers) on the EPA's combined test cycle. The estimate with AWD is 20 mpg (11.8 l/100 km).

As for trim level content, Essence means heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, bucket-style heated front seats, a hands-free power liftgate with Buick logo projection, and quite a few active driver-assist and safety goodies. The Premium levels up to a HUD, Bose audio, ventilated front seats, more adjustments for said seats, heated outboard seats for the second row, Rear Camera Mirror, an 8.0-inch Driver Information Center, Rear Pedestrian Alert, and HD Surround Vision for an overhead image of the area around the vehicle.

Touted as a Buick sub-brand, the Avenir sports Rainsense automatic wipers and 20-inch aluminum wheels in Avenir Pearl Nickel. Standard highlights further include a moonroof, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, carpeted floor mats for all three rows, and something that should've been standard from the Essence up, that being adaptive cruise control.
