The F-150 Raptor R often gets unwarranted criticism because it's not as powerful as the Ram 1500 TRX. Looking at the bigger picture, Ford developed the Raptor R with off-road shenanigans in mind rather than straight-line performance. Even so, the Predator V8 of the go-anywhere pickup truck does pack a considerable punch.
How big of a punch? Believe it or not, the most expensive F-150 that money can buy as of August 2023 is faster in the quarter mile than the Cadillac Escalade-V. And BMW-engined Range Rover P530. And Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The latest episode of Cammisa Ultimate Drag Race Replay further includes a fine example of the Mercedes-AMG G 63, which the Raptor R demolished in the quarter mile by an insane five-tenths of a second.

The Ford, however, couldn't keep the Lamborghini Urus at bay. Not the Urus S or Urus Performante, but a 2019 model. The Italian sport utility vehicle clocked 11.7 seconds at 115 miles per hour (185 kilometers per hour), presumably after subtracting the first foot of rollout. As for the Raptor R, the most powerful vehicle of the six ran 12.0 at 112 miles per hour (180 kilometers per hour).

Jason Cammisa highlights that the Raptor R could've gone faster had it not been limited to 112 mph from the factory. Part of the reason Ford Performance doesn't allow the Raptor R to go any faster is weight. Also remember that it's equipped with 37-inch tires of the all-terrain variety, which aren't designed for high speeds.

Tipping the scales at 6,075 pounds (2,755 kilograms), the Raptor R belts out 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet (878 Nm). Despite its unibody construction, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is heavier still at 6,084 pounds (2,759 kilograms). The Cadillac Escalade-V trumps both of them with a curb weight of 6,290 pounds (2,853 kilos).

Care to guess which is the least powerful vehicle of the bunch? The answer is Range Rover P530, with P standing for petrol (thanks, British English!) and 530 for metric ponies (make that 523 mechanical horsepower). The Rolls-Royce Cullinan may rock the most cylinders (12) and displacement (6.75 liters) of these vehicles, yet its V12 was designed to be as silky smooth as possible.

The Urus and G 63 both hide 4.0-liter V8s under their hoods, although the Audi-Porsche engine in the Urus is considerably more powerful at 641 hp compared to 577 hp. Twinned with the Bentley Bentayga and Porsche Cayenne, the Italian sport utility vehicle also happens to feature the best tires on the grid, namely sticky Pirellis.

The Urus S and Urus Performance are quicker still in the quarter mile thanks to 657 horsepower. Not long now, the Volkswagen Group's most performance-oriented SUV will get more powerful thanks to hybrid assistance. 2024 will see the debut of the Urus PHEV, which should be tuned slightly higher than the soon-to-be-revealed Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid. The Porker has already been confirmed with more than 700 ps (690 hp) to its name.
