Only two months ago, Japanese carmaker Nissan unveiled the facelift version of the Maxima sedan, targeting a sales start for December. Now that the last month of the year is here, so is the price list for the new model.
The car will be available to American buyers in five trims. The entry-level one is the S, which is priced at $33,950, while the top of the range, called Platinum will retail for quite a lot more,$41,440. In between the two are sandwiched the SV ($35,960), SL ($38,440) and SR ($39,530).
Regardless of the trim chosen, the Maxima will ship to customers with a radically different stance and appearance compared to the outgoing model. Visually, the car is more aggressive, having been updated by Nissan’s California design center, the interior is also improved, and all the advancements in technology and gadgetry made in recent years have made their way into the car, including through the Safety Shield 360.
This array of technologies brings to the range six active safety and driver-assist systems: Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking. The suite is offered as standard on Maxima Platinum and as part of the SR Premium Package.
Engine wise, regardless of trim level, there will be only one powerplant, a 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine paired to an Xtronic transmission. The engine develops 300 horsepower.
Aside for the five trim levels, there will also be two optional packages, SR Premium, and Platinum Reserve. The former will add Dual Panel Panoramic Moonroof and Intelligent Around View Monitor, among other things, and the latter 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, heated rear seats, and the Rakuda Tan semi-aniline interior.
All the details about the new Nissan Maxima, as released by the manufacturer, can be found in the document attached below.
